Microsoft has updated Office 2016 for Mac, adding support for OpenDocument formats, native screenshot management, and custom citations.
Here’s a quick rundown of each new feature.
OpenDocument Format (ODF) support. Office 2016 now supports ODF text, presentation and spreadsheet document types. This capability was also added to the Office Mobile apps for iOS.
Easier screenshots. Now you can take a screenshot, or insert an existing screenshot, from Word, PowerPoint or Excel 2016 by clicking the new Screenshot button in the Insert ribbon.
Custom citations. Available in Word 2016 for Mac, this new feature lets you add custom citations from external sources in addition to the default citation options. Citations can be added in various formats, including APA, Chicago-style, GOST, IEEE, ISO 690, and MLA, and you can create your own citations sources.
